‘One for the Money’ by Janet Evanovich caters for those who enjoy solid characters, those who like a bit of wit to break up the tension, and those that like to read about something a *bit* different than lawyers in a courtroom – come on, who doesn’t love a bounty hunter? Stephanie Plum is a sassy heroine with a shaky (and hilarious) love life, and the “bad guy” is such a rogue you will probably end up cheering for him.

Not to mention, Janet Evanovich has released a Stephanie Plum novel at the rate of one per year for 18 years (so far). So if you enjoy the first one, why not keep going? (Admittedly, the quality starts to slide a bit, but they are still good fun and you really don’t have to pay too much attention to the plot!)

“Three victims and three perpetrators- all bound in blood” John Suter Linton began his media career working at Sydney Radio Station 2GB. He went on to work as a radio journalist in Wollongong and Tamworth. Moving onto writing episodes for ‘Sons and Daughters’ and ‘Neighbours’, he was instrumental in developing the TV show “Australia’s Most Wanted” His second True Crime book relates the story of the brutal murders of  a former Wollongong Mayor and a local shopkeeper by the 18 y.o Mark Valera , pleading childhood sexual abuse. The story goes on to tell us of his sister Belinda who with the help of her boyfriend dispatched of her father with a tomahawk and poker. Colour photographs.

I find that the only problem with having such a stocked-up section is that I have too many choices when it comes to knowing what to read next.  Another Connelly? Another Lee Child? Another Peter Robinson? Or somebody different? Ah, me. Recommendations are always appreciated. Let our staff know what is good, juicy reading, so we can let others know too!

Here is a picture of part of one crime shelf that looks decidedly well fed. Although there is a lack of Lee Child now that there is a movie coming out. I can’t belive they cast TOM CRUISE as Jack Reacher. Surely they will have to install some stilts in his pants to make him tall enough?

Also, please try some Janet Evanovich books before seeing the Katherine Heigl Stephanie Plum films (“One for the Money” comes out soon). All of us here recommend reading at least the first few books first.
